Vanessa Teran

(Ecuador 1991)

Vanessa Teran is a multimedia artist from Quito, currently based in Brooklyn working with video, photo and installation. In 2012 she was awarded with an scholarship to enroll in the Photography and Video program at the School of Visual Arts in NY where she recently graduated. Her work goes around issues of identity and belonging, focusing on indigenous cosmology and contemporary resistance.




Research Gran for Engaging Artist Residency at More Art. Fund granted to develope "Runa Ñawi"  a visual laboratory and Andean cosmology workshops developed with the Kichwa and Ecuadorian immigrant community in NYC.

Selected for the New York Times Portafolio Review 2018.
